We’re looking for a capable and people-focused People Advisor to join our People Team, reporting to the Head of People.
This is a hands-on, generalist role where you’ll lead advice for managers and colleagues across the full employee lifecycle. You’ll provide practical, consistent advice on employee relations, performance, wellbeing and policy, helping ensure a positive and professional colleague experience across the business. Additionally, you will support and deliver on key initiatives across engagement, wellbeing, and our diversity and ESG activities. You’ll work closely with the Head of People and wider People Team to deliver key initiatives, while playing a vital role in day-to-day HR operations.
The Role
As People Advisor, you’ll provide reliable, balanced and commercially aware support to managers and colleagues. This is a varied role combining employee relations, lifecycle management, engagement support and HR administration.
You’ll be confident handling advisory responsibilities while knowing when to escalate more complex matters to the Head of People.

Key Responsibilities
People Strategy and Policy Development
- Support the delivery of our People Strategy.
- Lead on review, development and implementation of People Team Policies and processes.
- Drive and support with embedding our organisational values in day-to-day process and initiatives.
Employee Relations & Advisory
- Provide advice and guidance to managers on people policies and employment law
- Lead employee relations cases including probation, disciplinary, capability and grievance processes
- Support performance management processes and development conversations
- Ensure fair, consistent and compliant handling of people matters
Employee Lifecycle Management
- Support with onboarding and mover processes
- Oversee leaver administration including exit interviews and system coordination
- Identify improvement and automation to our employee lifecycle processes
- Manage maternity, paternity and family leave processes
- Act as a first point of contact for colleague queries
Absence & Wellbeing
- Manage absence and support managers with return-to-work processes
- Coordinate occupational health referrals where required
- Deliver wellbeing initiatives and Mental Health First Aider activity
Engagement & Culture Support
- Support engagement survey activity and follow-up actions
- Own People Team communications and updates
- Lead on culture and values-based initiatives
- Support internal events and engagement activities
Diversity, ESG & Community Activity
- Develop and strengthen our DEI initiatives and awareness events
- Deliver volunteering and work experience programmes
- Contribute to social value and community partnerships
Reward, Systems & Compliance
- Support benefits administration and payroll processes
- Manage holiday entitlements and usage of HRIS
- Maintain accurate colleague records and documentation
- Support ISO audit requirements and compliance activities
- Conduct people data reporting to inform decision making and continuous improvements
During peak periods, you’ll also provide broader support across recruitment and People Team administration.
About You
You’re a confident HR generalist who enjoys working operationally while building strong relationships across the business.
Qualifications & Experience
- CIPD Level 5 (or working towards)
- Experience within a generalist HR or People Advisor role
- Practical knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
- Experience managing employee relations cases
